We hired Andrew White from the website findatrade.com. He absconded with the money for materials and labour for our bathroom. We tried to contact him by all means but he failed to respond. When he did finally respond he said he was not coming back to finish the job.

He left us with two unfinished bathrooms, an open soil pipe, no water connection, unsafe wiring, rubbish in our front garden and other health and safety hazards.

Beware this builder: He takes money in advance and leaves the job unfinished.
Conned but Still Smiling says:

We found Andrew White on bark.com. He used the Covid-19 pandemic to justify taking money upfront for materials. After an initial payment he came back saying he needed even more money. We held out until he delivered some materials (worth a fraction of what we had already paid), but ultimately gave him the next payment.

He was due to start work the following week, but was suddenly unobtainable. He disappeared with our life savings leaving us with a couple of hundred pounds worth of useless materials.
